Delete Your Satinaire Account

This page explains how to delete your Satinaire account and the data associated with it. Satinaire is operated by Eros Media LLC. If you have any trouble with the steps below, email [email protected] and a real human will help.

Option 1 — Delete in the app (fastest, recommended)

  1. Open the Satinaire app on your phone or tablet.
  2. Tap the Profile tab in the bottom navigation.
  3. Scroll down to Settings → Account.
  4. Tap Delete Account.
  5. Confirm by typing DELETE in the prompt that appears, then tap Delete.

Your account is queued for permanent deletion immediately. You will be signed out and any active subscription will continue charging until you cancel it through the App Store or Google Play (we cannot cancel store subscriptions on your behalf — see "Subscriptions" below).

Option 2 — Submit a request here (if you can't access the app)

If your account is locked, you've uninstalled the app, or you'd rather not sign in again, fill out the form below. We'll verify the email belongs to you and process the deletion within 7 business days.

What gets deleted

When your account is deleted, the following are permanently removed from our systems:

  • Account profile (display name, profile picture, date of birth, subscription tier, preferences)
  • Reading history, bookmarks, saved stories, and reading progress
  • Comments, ratings, and reactions you've left on stories
  • Personalization signals (genre preferences, mood selections, recommendation data)
  • Push notification tokens
  • Any custom story drafts, custom characters, or content you created
  • Authentication credentials (Apple/Google sign-in linkage, password hash)
  • Your virtual coin balance and any unspent rewards (these are non-refundable per our Terms of Service)

What we keep, and why

A small subset of data is retained for legal, financial, or fraud-prevention reasons:

  • Purchase records (transaction IDs, amounts, dates) — retained for up to 7 years to comply with tax and accounting laws. These records are stored separately from your profile and are not linked to a personally identifiable account once your account is deleted.
  • Anonymized analytics — aggregated usage data that cannot be linked back to you (for example, "X% of users finished story Y") is retained indefinitely.
  • Anti-abuse signals — if your account was banned for terms-of-service violations, a hashed identifier may be retained to prevent re-registration. This identifier cannot be used to recover your account or its content.
  • Legal preservation — if we receive a valid legal request or are required by court order to preserve specific data, we will retain only what is required for the duration of that obligation.

Processing time

In-app deletion (Option 1) takes effect immediately for visible features (sign-in, profile, library). Backend purging across all systems and backups completes within 30 days. Web-form deletion (Option 2) is processed within 7 business days of email verification, and full backend purging then completes within an additional 30 days.

Subscriptions

Active auto-renewing subscriptions are managed by Apple and Google, not by Satinaire directly. Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. To cancel:

  • iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Satinaire → Cancel Subscription
  • Android: Google Play Store → Account → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Satinaire → Cancel

We recommend cancelling your subscription before deleting your account so the platform store can stop the next charge.

Recovery window

Account deletion is irreversible. We do not maintain a recovery period or "trash bin" — once deleted, account data cannot be restored. If you change your mind, you can create a new Satinaire account at any time, but reading history, library, coins, and subscription benefits from the previous account will not transfer.
